We have recently turned one year old, and we have plenty of reasons to celebrate! It’s been a year full of activity, taking our first steps towards a greener synthesis of pharmaceuticals. During this year we have had already our first results. Some of the main ones are the three mechanochemical alternatives to solvent-based reactions we presented at IUPAC 2023, or how to use mechanochemistry to manufacture imatibib, a “best-seller” from Novartis, in a greener way. And mor are under way!
In addition, we are developing protocols to evaluate the potential for scale-up of the reactions we are working on, and developing solid metrics to evaluate the impact of the reactions according to the 12 principles of Green Chemistry.
